INTRODUCTION TO THE CONGOLAIS FRANC
The Congolais franc is the official currency of Democratic Republic of Congo since 1997. The franc was historically used as currency of Belgian colony of Congo since 1886 until 1967, when it was replaced by the zaire. After successive monetary changes, finally the actual currency was reached. It is used by approximately 4 million five hundred thousand people.
