INTRODUCTION TO THE GUINEAN FRANC
The Guinean franc was introduced in Guinea in 1959 to replace the franc CFA which its two currencies were franc CFA from West Africa and franc CFA from Central Africa. In 1971 it was replaced by the syli but it was issued again in 1985 and since then it has become the official currency of Guinea. It is used by approximately 11 million of people.
