INTRODUCTION TO THE NETHERLANDS ANTILLEAN GUILDER
The Dutch guilder is the original currency used in all five Netherlands Antilles during the eighteen century and coins were introduced in 1794. Then, they used the reaal and the guilder was introduced again in 1828. In 1986, Aruba introduced its own guilder. Since 2011 the island of Saint Eustatius, Saba and Bonaire replaced it with the U.S. dollar. It only circulates in Curaçao and Sint Maarten. It is used by approximately 190 thousand people.
