INTRODUCTION TO THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES’S DIRHAM
The United Arab Emirates’ dirham started circulating in 1973 and it is the official currency of Arab Emirates since then. Since January 28th, 1978, the dirham was fixed according the FMI’s Special Drawing Rights, but in practice, it is fixed to dollar since 1997, USD1 = 3.6725 dirhams.
